Circle Lens: Geo Nudy Blue

My current favourite circle lens is Geo Nudy Blue. They definitely have a wonderful enlarging effect and they're very comfortable considering they are circle lenses!

Before-and-after is below. I haven't edited the images at all, they're just cropped from my phone. You can't actually tell wth the lenses look like in real life because on the circle lens sites, there's usually very over-photoshopped photos. So I plan to take photos of all my circle lenses in future to help discerning online buyers decide which lenses to buy. Here's the Geo Nudy Blue in natural window light.

Circle lens: Acuvue Define "Accent" Style

For the uninitiated: circle lenses are a special type of contact lens that makes your eye look bigger by increasing the size of your iris with a printed colour ring! They're popular in asian countries like Japan and Korea. 

Many people order these online, however it is unknown if they are legitimately from whatever foreign brand they say they are. A few years back, I consulted my optometrist about these lenses, and he did not approve as it is unknown what their manufacturing process is and they're not yet approved by the TGA, so the official line from optometrists (and probably most medical professionals) is that it's unknown whether they are safe. He suggested I try Johnson & Johnson 1 Day Acuvue Define circle lenses instead and ordered them in for me! 

They're so much more comfortable than the Korean / Japanese lenses, although less dramatic in colour and size. I use them for a little kick in iris size for times when I need to wear them for long periods of time or my eyes are irritated when I've tried to put other lenses in. This time I put them in to exercise as I didn't want to get sweat on my precious new glasses (the saline solution of sweat erodes things over time).

I still order and buy asian circle lenses because I just love the range of colours available and more enlargement effect, but I try to keep wear time to a minimum as I really don't know much about where they've come from. Whilst it's nice to know many people in Korea, Japan and all over the world use them with no problems, eye care is really not something you want to &%$# around with.
