FOTD Friday: Pink hair, pink lips

After a long hiatus I am back & my hair is now pink :D My hair was originally almost white blonde at the top before I dyed it, then I used equal amounts of Special Effects Atomic Pink and Special Effects Cupcake pink mixed with a loooooot of conditioner to get this colour! A little uneven (as most home jobs are) but I am extremely pleased with the result considering :D

Here's my every day look with a Forever New wreath I picked up at the end of last summer for $5. Obsessed with wreaths at the moment... and I'm loving the whole Pastel Goth look! You may see more pastel-goth-type items appearing around my face as I slowly sink into this trend. Where were you when I was 16, pastel goth?!? No matter, I'll jump on it now!

Things I used for this look:

• Face: Illamasqua Satin Primer, Illamasqua Powder Foundation in 200, Tarte Tipsy blush
• Brows: Lorac Pro Palette - Taupe
• Eyes: 
• Primer: Too Faced Shadow Insurance
• Inner corner & Tearduct: Lorac Pro Palette - Champagne
• Crease: Lorac Pro Palette - Taupe
• Outer corner & Lower lash line: Lorac Pro Palette - Sable
• Lids: Lightly washed in MAC Expensive Pink
• Liner: Stila Liquid Eyeliner in Brown, Tightlined with MAC Engraved pencil
• Lips: Revlon Lip Butter Lollipop

FOTD Friday: Quick work face

I don't like to spend hours on my face before going for work. So here's one version of a quick face that I do when I can be bothered putting makeup on at all:

When in a rush, my primary concerns are: Defining the eyes (darken around eyes) and giving a bit of life to the face (blush)

• Eyes: Toofaced Shadow Insurance primer, MAC Cork (crease) & MAC Espresso (around edges of eyes and underneath)
• Face: Illamasqua Satin primer and Illamasqua Powder foundation #200
• Cheeks: Illamasqua Powder blusher - Ambition
• Lips: Light light wash of NYX Fig with Illamasqua Sheer Lipgloss - Divine

It can look like a bit much around the eyes for everyday wear but you really need the extra smokey brownness when you wear glasses:

I'm getting sick of blonde hair! I think it'll be time to trade it in for another colour soon. The colour of my eyebrows bothers me especially but the blonde mascaras I have bought from Dollywink are just so weird.

FOTD Friday: Illamasqua makeover & haul

Illamasqua is the only makeup brand in Australia to price their makeup products the same as overseas, so I just had to drop by while I was in Melbourne! I found out that you can do a "makeover" for $50 and redeem it on product (two products will easily get you to $50) so I was sold! 

When I visited the Myer Melbourne CBD store, Rebecca did this look for me - unfortunately the eyeshadow had creased by the time I got back to the hotel 2-3 hours later and there's some migration under the eye, but the foundation is wonderfully flawless!! Love how it feels on my skin as well :)

FOTD Friday: Pop of pink!

Hey there, Sabrina/Rose reporting! I finally got off my ass to make another post for the blog. Alina/Sparkle's done a great job of holding up the fort while I was away. I could make excuses but instead, let's get on with the makeup shall we?

I was browsing youtube for some inspiration and stumbled on bubzbeauty's Electric Doll look - I LOVED it because it's wearable but also has that hint of rebellion to it. It suits my personality perfectly! She balances out the pop of crazy colour on the eye with a strong splash of colour on the lips.

I'd totally wear this to go out for coffee or to go shopping if I was feeling a little edgy and fancy! Check out bubzbeauty's video if you want to know how to do it: Bubzbeauty "Electric Doll" youtube video  

Here's what I used:

• Foundation: I was too lazy to put any foundation or BB cream. This is my real face texture with freckles / moles and all! And who's got time for mascara or brows? Not me today!
• Cream blush: Jemma Kidd Blush Concentrate 02 Masquerade
• Eye primer: Too faced Shadow Insurance - as always
• Pink shadow: Sugarpill Dollipop - if you like bright colours, you MUST get sugarpill shadows
• Matte lids: MAC Orb - It's a matte, paler-than-skin neutral shadow
• Tearduct and under eyes: Stila Kitten - this stuff packs some serious sparkle
• Lower outer corners: MAC Espresso - a matte dark brown shadow
• Liquid liner (winged, top only!): Stila all day waterproof liquid eyeliner dark brown - LOVE
• Lipstick: Secret Kisses "Kiss It" - if you missed it, I reviewed it here!

Thank you bubzbeauty for showing us how to make bright colours wearable!! I might actually get some more use out of my beloved crazy-coloured sugarpill shadows now ;) Totally want to try this look with different colours in place of the pink, perhaps purple, blue, green or orange!

FOTD Friday: Two ways with NAKED 2

Hi guys, Sabrina here! I went to the US and bought a bunch of things from Sephora - one of which was the NAKED 2 palette! It's packed full of highly usable neutrals in matte and sparkle as well as a wonderfully black I don't want to do a review until I've played around with it more but here are some quick little looks that that Alina and I did with the palette :)

FOTD: 1950s Siren Look

I've ALWAYS loved the 50s in terms of fashion and makeup so I was pretty happy when I found out one of my besties had decided to set "50s" as her birthday party theme! I spent a little time trying to find what makeup / hair would look 50s. It appears that for a 50s look:

• Signature red lip - very neat outline (use lip liner and/or conceal the edges to get a really neat look)
• Defined brow, but not thick. 
• Faces are contoured and blush is fairly subtle. 
• Eye shadow is light, perhaps pastel or neutral, with defined crease. 
• Looks tend to be quite matte as opposed to shiny. 

In terms of the hair, it's commonly curled with a side part away from the face and can be pinned on one side. Setting hair in curls seemed to be the way to go. I found this 50s hairstyle tutorial by The Cherry Dollface at the last minute so I tried to follow that.

FOTD Geisha Goddess

Following up on Sabrina's Face of the Day here is my attempt at a bold lip (if you've read our "About Us" section then you'll be well aware of my fear of red lipstick).

Still on holidays so relying on minimal supplies I was desperate to try my new red hot lipstick so this is what I came up with for a night time dinner/event (because I would not have the balls to wear this during the day). I'd probably recommend this to someone with lighter hair than mine because as you can see, with black hair it ends up looking a bit geisha-esque!

Products Used
- Foundation: MAC Studio Fix Fluid in NW30
- Concealer: Bobbie Brown Face Touch Up Stick in 4.25 Natural Tan
- Blush: Nars in Orgasm
- Eyeliner: MAC Powerpoint Eye Pencil in Industry (Black)
- Covergirl Colorstay Lipstick in Hot Passion 305 (Red)

If you I were at home with my full collection I would have preferred to use a smooth liquid eyeliner, filled in my eyebrows a bit and a bronzer (possibly a different coloured blush) but it's a nice simple look that'll make an impression!

FOTD: Everyday look

Hey guys, are you enjoying the Christmas break? :) Here's a new thing on the blog for us: Face Of The Day, shortened to FOTD. For those of you unfamiliar with beauty blogs, it's basically just a makeup look with a list of products used!

This is the kind of look I'll do if I feel like looking a bit made up but don't want the bother of caking on multiple layers of makeup. Went darker around the eyes so they'd have a bit of impact behind the glasses:
