Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains

2 for 1 sale on Revlon at Priceline (I KNOW, i have a problem!) meant that I just had to try the new Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains. I love the idea of a drug store version of the Clinique Chubby Sticks and there's such a novelty about a lip product that looks like a fat crayola pencil!

I bought the colours Smitten (dark pink) and Precious (neutral honey colour). Here are the swatches compared to my current go-to Revlon Lip Butter in Berry Smoothie.

For the past few months, I've loved the Lip Butters for it's intense moisturising effect however was disappointed that I had to reapply every half hour to enjoy ongoing lip colour (although I am lucky to have relatively pigmented lips naturally, it was still a pain). These Balm Stains are the perfect mixture of colour longevity and moisture.

(Note: in real life it looks much darker and intense)

Mixture: Smitten used over a layer of Precious

Smitten:
I have to admit, the dark pink Smitten worked all day long, providing richly pigmented lip stain for over 24 hours, through 3 meals and sleeping (I forgot to take off my makeup at night but thankfully pillow is not pink!) although I'd recommend applying clear lip balm throughout the day if you suffer from dry lips, or alternatively reapplying the lip stain if you like a really intensely dark colour as it is very buildable.

Precious:
Although I had high hopes for Precious, I was disappointed overall with the product, the colour made my lips just look oddly pale and the colour was gone 30 mins (or a drink) later however I have been using it in conjunction with other lip products to reduce the intensity of the pigment (seen above to produce a nice pink mixed with Smitten).

Overall impression:
- long-lasting colour (for darker shades)
- non-drying
- fun novelty crayon style packaging
- nice colours but try on your own lips before you buy as some may not work well with your skintone/lip colour etc.

Hope you enjoyed the review, if you get a chance go out and try one at your local Priceline/Chemist
