Watermelon cheeks: Maybelline LUMIFIT Blush in Watermelon Pink

While I was in China, I wanted to get exclusive Chinese products that are specially made to match with asian skin, and while I'm not familiar with Maybelline's whole product line in Australia, this looked like a product line that was unique to China: Maybelline LUMIFIT Blush.

See the review after the jump!

By the way, purchasing items from a Chinese department store is a complicated affair.  Once you've chosen something you want, the makeup counter lady gives you a piece of paper you take it to the pay counter then pay and take a receipt back to the makeup counter to get your product.  I don't know why they do things this way but it is pleasantly confusing.  All that running around just for a little blush.

Product: This little gem comes in a compact with a brush AND a mirror which is super handy for travel use or slipping in a handbag, although the mirror is mighty small. The brush is also pretty good quality for something in a compact - the end is tapered slightly which helps in application!

Colour: I absolutely looove this colour, applied with a lighter hand it gives me the most natural looking flush! It is a cool-toned medium matte pink colour with extremely subtle extremely fine glitter, which I like, I love blushes that aren't pearly nor make my face shiny. It's totally wearable day-to-day building to a pink flush for more dressed up occasions.

There are four colours available, as seen on Maybelline China's website:

Here's what it looks like on my extremely tanned hand on an overcast day (my face is nowhere near that dark thankfully):

But that doesn't really tell you what it looks like on, so here's what I like to call a "face swatch":
Applied over Australis Primer  & applied with included brush.
I've gone overboard here so you can really see the colour.
Pigment: It's medium pigment - you can build up slowly from subtle to i-just-ran-10-miles-face.

Staying power: Pretty good, it does fade a little bit over the day without primer, but given that it is a powder and I have dry skin, that's no surprise. At the end of an 8 hour road test, I could definitely still tell that I was wearing it and see the little particles of tiny glitter from the blush formula.
